Flat or non-thermo-sealable film: this type of film is transparent, high gloss and does not have the ability to thermo-seal. It is normally used for adhesive tapes, self-adhesive label liners, the front of packages with internal x internal closures, among other applications.
Co-extruded or thermo-sealable film: This type of film has a layer of polypropylene copolymer or other polymers, the function of which is to allow the packaging to be thermo-sealed.
This layer can be applied to both sides or just one side, depending on the intended application. It can be transparent, opaque or metallized.
Metallized film: transparent or opaque film that undergoes an offline metallization process. The aluminum layer added to the BOPP provides a light barrier, water vapor barrier and gas barrier, which are extremely important properties for protecting certain types of food.
Matte film: film with a matte appearance on one side and a glossy appearance on the other. This matt layer adds a velvety touch to the film and can be thermo-sealable or not. Used in applications where differentiation on the shelf is desired.
Opaque or white opaque film: film with an opaque appearance and glossy or matt finishes, the main characteristics of which are the differentiated weight/thickness ratio and the high opacity of the film, both due to the cavitation caused by the biorientation process. It can be thermo-sealable or not. It is widely used in PET bottle labels, self-adhesive labels and food packaging such as chocolates and confectionery.
