Vitopel obtains ISCC Plus certification

Both Vitopel units, Votorantim/SP and Mauá/SP, were certified by ISCC PLUS – International Sustainability and Carbon Certification, for the commercialization of circular BOPP films produced from renewable and circular base resins.

This fact expands our efforts towards sustainability in the flexible packaging market.ISCC PLUS certification is based on the concept of mass balance, which is a set of technical rules that guarantee that the same amount of raw material generated from post-consumer material feeding the process, leaves as a final product with the same characteristics of resins and chemicals from fossil origin, therefore, it is a certificate that allows the sustainability of circular products to be duly credited and recognized, in addition to contributing to more sustainable production processes and markets, increasingly encouraging the participation of the members in this supply chain.

This important achievement places Vitopel at the forefront of the transition to the circularity of BOPP films in Brazil and serves as support to customers in their commitments to sustainable goals of providing solutions that will collaborate with the circularity and reduction of the use of fossil resources and also reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

“This achievement is the result of everyone’s dedication and commitment and again, it puts Vitopel in the spotlight against the competition. We are always adopting measures to reduce the impact of our products on the environment and for some time we have been working in a high advanced way regarding to mass balance control and the excellence of our traceability systems. Now, with ISCC Plus, we reinforce this work and our participation in effectively sustainable chains by supplying circular and certified films”, comments Vitopel’s quality manager, Wanderley Altomani, adding that the search for ISCC Plus certification was driven by Vitopel’s ability to anticipate market needs and come out ahead with solutions for customers looking for differentiation and competitiveness through the circular economy.

We congratulate and thank everyone who participated in this process!

Another big step taken successfully and in the right direction of our commitment to make sustainability part of the present and of everything around us.
